Could either be a good day or big day. NWS and dot graph showing 15-25 but the Euro and GFS are showing much higher gusts. Water is still chilly and high.
Edit: so far I've heard from Neil, Reggie, Alan and Langdon.
I plan on going earilier around 10:00am. Until I can fly on the foil I find the heavy gusts too much for me. So if anybody was thinking about going early, I should be there. Not to mention traffic on 85 coming home on a Friday will be miserable so hope to exit by 2:30.
Ed, Rhett, Gene, Chris P. & I sailed this afternoon at Van Pugh. The cold front brought in crystal-clear air. Making the N. GA mountains look so close. Sail sizes ranged from 4.2 -5.2 meters. At times Rhett was overpowered on his 4.2 and I was slogging on my 5.2, but then the wind blew just right and we had a blast.
The water is still over the break walls and into the trees. I hit a big branch, or maybe it was a small log. I saw it just in time to slow down, but still went for an unintended swim. It made a loud "crack", but surprisingly there was no damage to my fin. So beware of floating debris.
Trey arrived in his 1972 Pontiac powered by a massive V8 rumbling un the hood. He came to watch since his sailing session at Lake Arenal in Costa Rica cost him two cracked ribs.
All was good heading home until I heard on the radio that Trump's visit to CDC was on again. I tried to get off I-85, but too late, 1,000 feet from my exit all lanes slowed to a stop and I sat there for 45 minus until the traffic began to creep forward.
If you want to spend one of the best non-windsurfing days ever, go with Trey to a car show. He knows his stuff and is super generous and enthusiastic. Sorry he's banged up. Pics of his 'bird.
I'm in, I hope.

If you guys venture into Old Fed, you will see Rogier and me.
Try to stay below 5000. The Airbuses headed for Hartsfield keep complaining about you guys

Make sure you bring your small stuff if you go today.
I'm still not feeling well so I might sit this one out. Otherwise, good day to dig out the 75 l. board.
Nope. I’m out.
Alan
5000 millimeters. Those airplanes keep flying too low and practicing pulling a Sully on Lanier.
I'll sail VP - 2 or 3:00.
A maybe for me.
Watching the flag go straight out then drop and just hang there
Almost live report -
Van Pugh - 12.15
Max 25.8 MPH, Average around 20, on the shore but should be good reading, no shaddow.
Ed rigged 4.7 about to head out.
I guess I'll eat a quick lunch and head back down there. I'm thinking I'd rig my 4.5.

Pictures! (Is the deer still there?)
I meant to call the COE about that deer.
Alan
I know a crew that can help.

From Lake Lanier Sail Rats FB group. Confirmed: It's Alejo. He was out with Rogier yesterday.
