Staying in Treasure Island

I’m staying here for a couple of days.
If anyone needs something from NB windsurfing let me know.

Great place for cheap breakfast and afternoon drinks: https://goo.gl/maps/6Dm9q122FNH3UBv98

Decent affordable seafood: https://goo.gl/maps/pX4T55Utbqk8pEBi8

Candy Kitchen: https://goo.gl/maps/Y6RJBFtGE8tokeJ37

There's a hole in the wall taco place somewhere around there that's decent for lunch.

Say hello to Britt and Karen for us. Clayton is running around down there close by and Alan is headed down this weekend.

Do the tourist thing and watch the sunset at the Brass Monkey down on Pass-a-grille Beach. Go a bit early to get a seat out on the deck facing the water. I shared the miracle of the Green Flash with Langdon there but we didn't see it.

Hey Ed
I'll be down that way Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and will be looking for a deeper place to foil than Fred Howard park
if you find any.

Alan,
Anything eastish - Sunshine Skyway a bunch of people will be there. just head right out of the launch and mind the sandbar. Windsurfers launch further north than the kiters. You'll have to pay a toll although the Peach Pass may work down there. Do not go left - no matter how much Langdon beckons you. Lol

Northish wind - north side of Courtney Campbell Causeway

Eastish - the park beside the Clearwater Community Sailing Center Make sure you head out past the orange markers and then turn south. Ring me or Langdon if you need more detailed directions.
NW - the guys at CCSC walk across and launch from the park on the beach. No shore break to speak of they say.

Per Johnny Epstein; ( FB/ Tampa Bay Windsurfing)

"If you wanted deeper water then Palma Sola Bay is fun on a foil. The PSB launch is to your left as you head west on Manatee (FL64) across to Anna Maria Island."

Sailed at skyway beach today, deep enough for foiling. Wind directions N, NE, E, SE.
Will go there tomorrow morning.

Looks like a triangle about half mile to the side. Bigger than Canadian Hole, smaller than we're used to here.

https://goo.gl/maps/D7uu3YpgC3aLCAjz9 Take a look at the satellite view to have an idea where the margins are.

Edit: wiki map updated with a few of these locations.

Our family was at Kelly Park 12/26. It was great to sail with my son Jamie. It was his first time in 10 years and he sailed like it was only last week. We had nice wind and the grandkids got their first look at Gramps and their dad windsurfing.
Great seafood in Port Canavaral at Grills

What a great thing to share!

Okay, tell the truth, though. Who's faster? Does Gramps still have it or is Jr. the new king of the pride? Biggrin
