From the Pac NW elist. Almost to Canada and warmer than us. On the other hand, 23 gusting to 57...
Yeah, I'm good where I am.
Sure about that? I think it might be better there than here (if you believe both forecasts. I don't believe them, at least not the gusts.)
iWindsurf is a lovely service for many spots. Not here, though, imho. I'm really hoping they're wrong because with our hardwoods and wet soil, that would be mayhem.
I’m not sure of the exact location of this report. I have visited my family out there and was on Puget Sound in a boat observing a windsurfer wearing a survival suit many miles from shore in 45 mph winds recorded by the skipper. An hour after this time the wind dropped to 10mph. Factor in 4-6 knot currents or more. You could be in some kind of trouble in minutes.
Final thought for tonight- the buddy system could be your only link to survival

I can think of a few places that could get by with less trees.....but NIMBY, of course.

Not those - they would just replant and I would have to wait another 15 years for them to grow tall enough so that only the trunks were an obstruction.

I have no idea to what you refer... https://windsportatlanta.com/comment/47008#comment-47008
I was perusing the French foil forum and the lads in Brittany were complaining about the wind. Too much. Way too much.
A couple of pics
