Gotta have gear

Just when I thought I have all the gear I need, I see this during my morning walk around our neighborhood lake.

Maybe William has one to sell? Otherwise, where do we find one?

As long as it stays on the saw horses, I'm fine with it.

You don't have to foil it but seems ok for windsurfing, no? You don't think you can tack or jibe with that? ?

DIWhy.

I have an old 80s longboard sitting on the dock that weighs about 10lbs less that you can have if you want to do this. Like Alan said, these weren't good boards for standing on and not much better to sit on.

Let me see if I can catch my neighbor in action with this thing (ie. When it's off the saw horses and actually in the water) and then might take you up on that offer. Does it come with instructions / training on how to tack with it or sail at your own risk? ?

HamdiD -there is this. Available (from me) at a very reasonable price. Converts any longboard into a kayak. Nearly new, complete with rudder. Install/remove in minutes.

Hamdi's a rower. All those seats were facing the wrong direction

Just one of many

I've got your free windsurfer at the lake house. I even brought it up from the dock already.

(But, buy Randy's anyway. He wants more foiling gear.)

Re: Gotta have gear

I'm pretty certain he could turn it around to make it face backwards, though I can't why anyone would do that. I see those rowers at the river all the time when I'm sailing. I always feel like the guy featured in this:

Flipping the seat is the easy part. The lack of oarlocks, however... Biggrin

Of course, if you could just install a warlock, instead.

Wow, so many hidden gems out there; would have never known if I didn't start this thread. I actually kayak and SUP as well as row; have the toys shown below. However, can never have enough toys right - I should see what William and Randy have. Maybe have an 'unusual floaty toys' meet sometime on the lake? ?

As a windsurfer and cyclist, I almost reflexively laugh when someone tells me that they put their car in their garage. Really? Where do you keep the important things?

Re: Gotta have gear

I have divested most of my floaty fleet, esp. windsurfers. I used to have 10 I think (though I would never admit it at the time). Now I only have 3 actual windsurf board, though I do have a inflatable SUP and a couple small kayaks. I'm trying to sell one of WS boards though.

Very true, although I have to say I am still pushing the limits of organization and racks placement to fit 2 cars plus: 4 bikes, 2 kayaks, 2 SUPs, an old rowing shell, 4 WS boards, a small workbench & associated tools as well as foil, 7 sails, couple booms, couple masts, bike and WS hitch rack, AND excess Costco groceries into my 2.5 car garage. This is how the other side of my garage looks (the side with kayaks and SUPs shown in earlier pic)
