Wind forecast is looking strong (west, 14-15 with gusts of 21-22) pretty much all day and very low chance of rain after 7am. Temps getting to 47 by 10am, peak of 51 early afternoon. I would prefer to start around 10 and go as long as my body holds, if anyone joining? Could be VP, OF or other at Lanier.
Only wish that 5.7 Lift would be here by then - arriving Mon, just when I am off to IA for work, then UT for skiing ?. Too much wind for the new skyscape 7.6 (unless you're William, who seems to make anything work at any condition - as if we needed more reasons to be "pissed off" with him ?).

Thanks, you too. Tough time of the year for hobbies (especially one on -in- the water like this), so hope there'll be people up for it. Enjoy the holidays and thanks again for all your support this year - as this could be my last session until after Christmas. Let me know if you'll need your tall extension in the meantime.

Sounds too familiar. Even worse is when you miss days when your gear is in Atlanta and it takes them 4 days to unload the truck.

I can one-up you on that, though I wish I couldn't: how about when they loose your 13ft long $1500 carbon fiber paddle board AFTER they confirmed arrival but took 3 days to transfer from their inter-state warehouse to local warehouse? Fortunately the manufacturer (tower sports in San Diego) shipped me a new one at no cost, albeit 4 weeks after the original plan.

I went to the place one time to pick up my board to avoid all this sort of thing. It was destroyed because a forklift was used to pick it up. The two forks pierced the board and went straight through it. In one side and out the other.

Randy wins - not a win he wanted or we wanted to congratulate him for, of course! I have to say though- in that incident where my paddleboard got lost, I have asked to go get it but they kept telling me i wasn't allowed until it got transferred to the local warehouse (which was supposedly a mile or two from the warehouse it landed in and was kept at). Then it went missing, they did local counts, manual searches, etc. and no luck.

I wouldn't be shocked if the board you ordered got the forklift treatment and they didn't want to admit it. Some boards come with DO NOT USE FORKLIFT written on the box. A lot of boards now come double boxed (probably thanks to Gene who got a lot of damaged boards and started insisting on double boxing.) Either that or someone working the warehouse decided to take up SUP.

Yeah, I have assumed the latter - that someone decided to take up SUP but who knows. If that was the case, they got a nice board; hope they are putting to good use.

I plan on sailing at VP early afternoon.

(Also had a board delivered skewered by forklift right through box, but have had better luck with double boxing.)

I've had two boards (and good ones) stolen - so holidays or not......

Re: Sat 12/14

Okay since nobody else is reporting I will. The early birds got the best of it but it was still around W15-20 in the afternoon.

HamdiD blew us all away with his new board carrying system he designed for his Tesla.
HamdiD and Gene foiled with 5.3, 6.0. Barrett Chris and I windsurfed with 7.0, 5.8, 7.3
and Al continued to amaze us getting out to the wind line on his 83 liter Fanatic Free Wave and 6.5 I think.

We all had a good day.
