Yes, I can go. I'll check the updated forecast in the morning to decide on when. Hamdi, please post when you're going so we can sail together.
Great, i will do that. My current goal is to be on the water between 12 and 1 (as the saying goes, 'Man plans, God laughs'?). I have a conf call at 2, so hoping to get some time on water before and after that. Temps showing 46 at noon, 48 at 1, peaking at 50 at 2 - not a huge swing in that time frame.
So far, I am on track to be at Vanns around noon, give or take 30min. If anything changes between now and then, I will post; otherwise assume that plan to hold. See you all soon.
What fun today was! Four of us made it out to Vanns: Hamdi, Chris P, Barrett and me. Hamdi and I foiled. I rigged a 4.7 and had a blast - I think I spent maybe two minutes off the wing all day (not counting a couple of swims apres jibe). It was fun to surf the swells and then motor back up wind in the gusts.
He's getting one in the mail. I didn't find it that hard to downhaul just through the grommet but he did. He's getting a Lift pretty soon anyway so it won't matter. That's kind of you - he may well take you up on it.
1. Clouds appear on the horizon from the West; surface wind is from the East, resulting in turbulence aloft & an interesting cloud pattern that interests Chris.
2. William rigging while Hamdi sails far out on Lake.
3. Wm. enters downwind turn.
4. Smooth move as Wm. foils through jibe.
I think Barrett's camera used to be a sniper in the Army. He sent me this pic last night. The houses in the background, by Google Maps measurement, are 2.36 mi (3.79 km) from where he was sitting.
Early afternoon. Enough wind all day to let it warm up a bit.

You mean the Splash (board) Brothers - Barrett and Chris P?
What happens in a black hole stays in a black hole.
7.0 and 5.8 (or 5.9, I can never remember Chris's quiver). Hamdi rigged a 6.0. I doing a GoFundMe so he can get a downhaul pulley hook.
We all had fun. It was a good day across the foil/splash (as appropriate) board.
I've got a screw on pulley i'll give him if he is at the lake Saturday

Ironically - there is a guy in the Netherlands that just asked me the same question.
