Gotta admit, when I turned the corner on Gaines Ferry, peaked between the houses and saw the lake absolutely filled with white caps, I freaked a little bit. The earlier forecast was 12-18 so I'd dumped all the small stuff from the van before heading out and thereby violating the first maxim of windsurfing: Bring everything.
I did go for the 5.4 and it handled better than I expected. Took me a while to get used to smaller gear but once I settled down and didn't freak out in every gust, it was a lot of fun. I love going over to Aqualand and surf foiling (or pretending to, at least) the swell. Best part is how easy it was to sail back upwind.
Thinking about it.
Holding off till Saturday for me.
Might make it tomorrow afternoon but I doubt it.
I should be at VP between 12 to 1pm

William foiled 5.4, Barrett windsurfed 7.0, both did great.
I don’t know what you’d call what I did.

One step closer to foiling nirvana?
