Re: Foil board

Should be a snap to repair it. Here are step by step instructions. I'm sure William could do it. You might also check about a warranty return. Lol

I'm checking around.

Re: Foil board

Ah, the finicky nature of race boards - to make them light, not a whole lot of extra cloth (glass or cf) so the board is vulnerable to damage.

The board can be fixed if you spend about $100+ on supplies (divinycell, good glass, etc) and have a vacuum bag. Without a vacuum bag, the repair will be either heavy or just waiting for another break. I wouldn't chuck it (probably someone like D. Stanger or Alex M. could do something useful with it) but you probably need to be foiling on something more robust. But fixed properly, it's still a lightweight sandwich board - probably not the best match with your hard charging sailing style Biggrin

The 2019 SS boards are supposed to be more robust than the '18 models. Also, AST and Ace-tec construction Exocet and Bic are probably pretty strong as well as wood construction JPs.

This will be one time where buying the cheap model in the lineup will probably be worthwhile.

You may find a good deal in the next several (Black Friday) weeks so patience will help.

William, I forget did someone buy your F156?

BTW - were you at Old Fed today?

No and no. Was returning from a hiking trip in NC today. I only go to Old Fed if I can't park at VP. Too much shadow for my taste.

Upstate SC had east wind. By the time I got to Hartwell around 5:30, it was 10-12 NW there. Forgot and left my 4/3 at home (never made it back to the car after FL) or I would have been tempted to stop at Hartwell for a quick session.

Re: Foil board

I saw someone from a distance that I thought was you. Apparently not. I guess there at least one possible replacement for the fold up board out there (if still available). Yes 3
