490 mast

Looking for a 490 carbon mast. Prefer rdm and higher carbon % but would consider otherwise - let me know if you want to unload or hear of any.

Re: 490 mast

Please see my PM.

I have a Neil Pryde FreeRide Pro, SDM. It is CC, which is before NP went to a softer top.
I've seen Carbon Content at both 71% and at 91%.
The weight labeled on the mast is 2.55 kg (5.6 lb).
Very Good to Excellent condition.
See attached pictures.
Here are some specs: https://www.peterman.dk/masts-all-imcs01.htm

This is the 2019 Mast selector chart:
https://www.unifiber.net/masts-selector

Now, compare with the 2011 Mast Selector chart:
https://www.unifiber.net/masts-selector-2011-v1

Check out the stiff-top sails, e.g. Naish, Severne, Maui Sails and, Gaastra.....
Wow! What a change from 2011 to 2019??

Re: 490 mast

Even though I've seen the Peterman chart a dozen times, there are still surprises: all those long Fiberspars are so hard top.

Glad that most sails now are reasonably CC. Looking at you NP.

Indeed.
The Peterman Windsurfing Mast chart goes back with the latest entries made in 2011.

Following the link root takes one to an interesting Danish website that offers a lot of interesting subjects, some in English:

Re: 490 mast

It's a good site that has been useful from time to time over the years including the articles on nose reduction and redoing a tail on a slalom board. Haven't looked at the Danish side for a while and noticed some adventurous remods of some big boards:
Looks like CV and I should do the middle mod on his Exocet: https://www.peterman.dk/windsurf-tail-modificering-1000.html
