A couple more of us are in, too. Chris. Good

If you've ever yapped about "yada, yada, Olympics" this is your chance to step up and help out. Farrah has worked hard and is very competitive both in RS:X and foiling.

Hers is a heroic story. You probably know that most countries give lots of logistical and financial support to their teams and individual athletes. The U.S. doesn't. US Sailing does help but it's nothing near what other countries do. Farrah is doing it pretty much doing it on her own. Full time training, traveling to the important regattas, hiring coaches, maintaining the gear and living solo on the road is no small feat. I know in the past she cleverly joined up with the very competitive French and Polish teams for training. I think this is her 4th Olympic cycle, so 16 years of commitment. iirc, She lost in the '07 Trials in a controversial protest by a far less experienced woman who then got her butt handed to her at the games. A lot of people giving a little bit would make a big difference.

Farrah's latest blog post: https://usawindsurfing.wordpress.com/2019/08/29/tokyo-typhoon-thoughts-on-the-olympic-test-event/
We follow her blog so you'll see it on the front page when she updates.

This pic blew my mind:

Quote:
With only one year to go until the Olympics, I have a positive feeling about the events to come, and my ability to execute what needs to happen. I’m greatly looking forward to the next event: the World Championships at Lake Garda, Italy. Even better, I’ve been approved to help select the next Olympic equipment for 2024 at the Olympic sea trials immediately after the Worlds. I can’t wait to try out all the latest innovations in equipment, and I hope to offer good insight from a North American perspective.
Foil! Biggrin

btw, if you want to see the Pryde pricing list for RS:X and why it's so hard to own and campaign an RS:X https://www.neilpryde.com/pages/rs-x-pricing

Quote:
RS:X Board DNPRSXB € 2,885.42 RS:X Board Evo DNPRSXBE € 2,885.42 Fin 60 Women DNPRSXF60 € 156.96 Fin 66 Men DNPRSXF66 € 193.89 Fin Evo 60 black DNPRSFE60 € 399.00 Fin Evo 66 black DNPRSFE66 € 416.00 Sail 8.5 BNPRSX085 € 913.56 Sail 9.5 BNPRSX095 € 996.92 Sail Evo 8.5 BNPRSXE085 € 913.56 Sail Evo 9.5 BNPRSXE095 € 996.92 490 Evo Mast RMRSXE000STD490 € 482.94 520 Evo Mast RMRSXE000STD520 € 531.23 225 Boom RBRSX225 € 869.29 Extension 48 RERSX48 € 41.25 Base RPBRSX € 51.60

My custom foil board cost 30% less. To be fair, by weight, the RS:X is a better deal. You get more kgs for your $. Biggrin
