Most windsurfers: Huh? Lol

Well, the kite was looping clockwise. That counts for something, right? I know I've kooked out on Rogier once or twice on Lanier so I'm not throwing stones on this one.

Those cool harness lines: https://point-7.com/product/qr-innovative-quick-release-harness-lines/

Not very expensive but why would I use quick release harness lines?

Re: Mast vs Strut

Remember the old "I'm trapped under my sail by my harness lines and can't get loose" horror story? Only reason I can think of. Not a good enough one for me.

It helps if I read the product page. Randy, you are 33% right.

Quote:
SAFE In case of panic, pull the yellow QR plugs when caught under the sail, or in any emergency situation. The QR lines will immediately release from the harness straps, and set free the harness hook. EASY Have different QR lines lengths, and change the lengths according to who will use them in the family. If conditions change, if the same boom is used for different sail sizes, you can easily change length of the QR lines, without having to have the standard Vario- lines which wear out with time. FAST Not only the harness straps can be placed on the boom without taking out the back end, but to fix the QR lines to the QR straps, it takes only few seconds.
Swap line length quickly seems pretty handy. Probably a lot easier to put on the boom without having to remove the tail piece. And, if I meet a kite in a dark alley one night... I can detach like a salamander ditching his tail. Biggrin
