Re: Midweek 8/7-8

I can recall spring days here wearing a full wet suit when temps were above 80.

Randy, Langdon and I are headed up. Hamdi maybe later.

Guaranteed to blow today as Gene can't make it. We owe you one, pal. Biggrin

I sure wish you could send some of that Gorge wind our way. Where have you settled down? Did you buy a house or are you renting?

Bought a house in White Salmon. Across the river from Hood River.
Another 3.4 day today.

Re: Midweek 8/7-8

Yesterday was fun, fun, fun. I foiled until my arms fell off. Surprisingly windy early on - gusts to 20 based on both water and Gilmer. Langdon got the hole shot, Randy and I followed. Gene turned up after promising us he wouldn't. We let him into the park anyway. Biggrin Hamdi and Jim C came but didn't sail it lightened up enough later to be a little dissuading. Foilmaestro came later as did Mauricio who showed the glory of quality old longboards by having a good time going upwind and back.

Further studying the tapes between yesterday and the day before, the 9.4 really doesn't add much bottom end beyond the 7.7. I think it glides just a touch better but the pumpability of a smaller sail means they both get off the water pretty much at the same time for me. If I had to race in super light conditions, I'd consider taking the 9.4 but, for now, let's call it a proof of concept and leave it in the garage.

Having said that, I procured a secret weapon last night on ebay that will be another interesting experiment. Details in a few days.

Because you lack air time?

No, because I lack sense. Biggrin

Gosh, Randy, now it's not a secret, is it? Lol

Interesting read. I wonder at what price point brings these out on Lanier?
