I just completed a week of ABK camp in Hatteras. 20+ students, 5 coaches, each with min 20 yrs teaching experience. We got split up into 4 groups - true beginners (never windsurfed before) one group and the rest into 3 groups based on their experience and goals. I was in the bottom "experienced" group of 8 and had 2 instructors - Andy (owner) and Tom. We worked on improving tacks and jibes, beach starts, backwinded sailing, clew first sailing, water starts (first steps; didn't get to practice this too much), and last day option to try foiling for all interested (which I did and managed to stay up on the foil for very brief periods - it was gusty day, not the best for foiling). Other experienced groups seemed to be working on various "tricks" - helicopter tacks, carving jibes, various 360's, and beyond. Seemed like over 90% of the 15+ people in the "experienced" groups have done the ABK camps more than once, some 3-4 or more times - a testament to their satisfaction obviously. I had a great time, improved in a number of areas, and learned that I have so much more to go - time to schedule the next camp :).
Welcome to one of the worlds most fun addictions.
If you see a forecast of 10 to 15 or more check this website
to see who is going and where then come join us. Tomorrow there should be a few sailing at Van Pugh Park if you are available.

Somebody else attended your camp: https://boardsurfr.blogspot.com/2019/05/foiling-in-hatteras.html
I think his wife is a pretty good freestyler
He is referring to Nina - if that's his wife, then the poster must be Peter. Both of them are excellent freestylers. During video reviews, I have heard Andy (ABK camp owner and head instructor) refer to one of Nina's "tricks" as "I don't think that there are any other women in US who can pull that trick off" and similar top 5 comments for some of Peter's. Nowhere near my level for sure; not clear whey they actually go to the camp except to surf with others??
That's them!
Hi William, do you have a few minutes.sometime this weekend to talk about Hilton Head and Tybee island. I might try to do a trip there in a couple weeks and you mentioned someone willing to give guidance (or play guide) in Typee island and sounds like you might also know someone in HH? If you have time to talk, you can call my cell at your convenience. I might also be at Vanns tavern tomorrow afternoon. 770.403.0243
