Sweetwater Creek S.P.

Yep, I sailed on George H. Sparks Reservoir in Sweetwater Creek State Park on Wednesday. The bottom line, It's OK if you're desperate and want a pleasant longboard session someplace close to town. It would be a great place for teaching. There's lots of grass rigging area right next to the boat launch. The down side is that it's pretty much a puddle surrounded by trees and low hills. Amazingly, I did manage a number of planning runs in the gusts (11.0 sail+Formula) and even a couple jibes. Probably a 1+ on the Skunkatron 6000. Since it's a state park it's $5.00 to get in (or $50.00 annual pass).

I LOVE reports of new locations. To be added to the great wiki!

Thanks and glad you got some time on the water!
