Rhett & I took advantage of a couple of low-wind days to foil from our location in Nags Head. Rhett came equipped with two foils. When the tide was out he used his Slingshot foil with 30 inch mast. I rented a Slingshot Infinity foil with similar mast length from Brian at Ocean Air. Brian lives next door to us and let me use the foil & board he sails with here in Nags Head (pictured below).
It was a great opportunity to try foiling with a dedicated foil and board combination. The gear has really improved, so I was able to get up and flying on my first try. Gaining enough control to sail in varying wind conditions obviously takes more time.
Thanks to Pat for taking the photo of me foiling away from shore on a 5.2m sail. It was a short session as the wind picked up and I soon became overpowered & converted to sailing a short board.

Trying a "free" foil demo is like going to the animal shelter to just "look" at the puppies. Chances are, either way, you aren't going home alone.
Thanks for the warning webguy. I go by an animal shelter on the to and from my kitebuggy spot. I have thought of stopping by once in a while. Guess I should stick with the donut shop.....
What happens in a black hole stays in a black hole.
As long as you realize that the same thing applies at the donut shop. That's how I went up two pants sizes...
Nice photo Barrett, Looking good on that Slingshot!
It looks like it could use a good home in Atlanta.
