Me not. Paving guy wants to come - so looks like I'll be smelling asphalt instead. But she who makes all windsurfing purchases possible has wanted this done for the longest time so the least I can do unless I want to start sailing an O'Brien off craigslist.

While the water has warmed up, I'd imagine the wind chill will be significant tomorrow. May want to unroll those full suits for one more outing.

It's the Chestnut Ridge Park gate. It'll help if anyone needs an Uber. ROFL

Well crap, I don't have a sail or board that small with me.
I may be leaving by noon.

Re: Anybody going Friday 4/26?

I admit, it would be more appropriate if someone else (who's going to try to sail tomorrow) posted this. But, I'm the only one who thought of it.

So webguy, would tomorrow be a good day for me to come over and watch asphalt dry. I seem to have some free time tomorrow. I've never actually seen asphalt dry after being put down on the pavement.

Sure, Randy. Come on over. I'll even let you use your finger to write your initials in before the asphalt cools. Shok

Re: Anybody going Friday 4/26?

Alan reports gusty winds but nice lawn at West Point. Gene kept sending me pics of his anemometer. I think he went to Van Pugh to simply stand on the shore. That's my working theory until I have evidence he got wet. Biggrin

Pavers didn't come because all the workmen woke up to rain and bagged it. Maybe tomorrow.

Edit: Gilmer reported 18g30 at 2 pm. An hour earlier, reported 13. Yeah, sounds like Lanier... Fool

Galts report: 2:30-4:30. 5.4 & 135l board was about right most of the time. Really gusty though, so some times slogging and others hanging on while tail walking. Fellow named Josh showed up with a windsup & 5.0 as I was leaving.

Re: Anybody going Friday 4/26?

Van Pugh was blowing like crazy when I arrived around 2PM, so I rigged a 5.2m sail & brought my 84liter board down to the shore only to see the wind slack off. While I was rigging my 6.0m, Michal (AKA Voltar), headed out on a 5.5m. The 6.0m worked well for me, sometimes way, way powered up, and other times underpowered, but a good overall choice, and on a plane at least 90% of the time. Waves near the far shore made for air time. Chris P. got out early, but was on & off a plane with a small sail.

The wind dropped some more and Mauricio, Ed, Gene, and Al headed out on 6.0 to 6.5m sails. The water has warmed to 64F, and there was no wind shadow getting out, so for me a good day. I did hear a lot of grumbling about gusty conditions.

Re: Anybody going Friday 4/26?

Warm and Windy at West Point. Nice fetch from shore to the Dam. With a NW wind you're never more than swimming (or drifting) distance from shore which is very comforting when you're sailing alone. I rigged a 5.4 and the F2 115L board (plug alert) that I have for sale. Afterwards I got a little cross training in on the Lake Side trails.

This place would be perfect for kiting, plenty of beach and grass for launching.
