Mon Tax Day

Gotta be up in G'ville this morning. I'm going to swing by VP after lunch.

Chris P, Alex and I did Van Pugh this afternoon. 15-25 (sometimes 12-28). Lots of fun but a touch chilly compared to last week's warm spell.

Eddie O. and I carried the torch at Galts. He sailed 6.5 while I went with 5.0. I had hoped to take another crack at foiling today, but chickened out because the wind seemed too strong. May have been wrong about that, but the day was still pretty fun. Ironically it was this very day last year I think (tax day) that I last windsurfed at Galts. I didn't make a vid today, but last year's will do - same board just a little bigger sail today.

What do you mean "another crack"? Did we miss the report on the first go at it?

Good call on using the splashy board today. If you were good on a 5.0, you would have wanted a 4.0 for the foil. Shok Is the Jr. board dry now?

I sailed Allatoona at Websters Ferry Landing on a 6.5. The wind was on and off, but enough planning to keep it interesting. I don't think it's any better that Galts on a NW. For kicks and giggles I also sailed upwind a couple miles around the Northern tip of Red Top and towards the dam. Was a nice day to be on the water. -Bill H.

I did make it out last week in sub par winds for short while and it was quite a success. First my board (F136) doesn't seem to leak any more. Second I got flogging. A lot of flogging. Third, I got flaning (planing with a foil) a half dozen times. Finally and most important, no humans, boards or foils were damaged.

Yesterday used the F136 as well as on my prior tax day and hopefully the next one.

Meanwhile at Old Federal...

Don't worry, the folks on the kiteboarding facebook page have already chewed the guy's butt off, no need to pile on here (really, don't). Just a reminder that Lanier is challenging for our kiter friends and, whether you are kiting or windsurfing, take those bigger days seriously. If you are starting out and a more experienced windsurfer/kiter suggests caution or even taking the day off, don't be offended. We're not gatekeeping - we don't want to see something bad happen to you.

Closed but quick to respond to membership requests. I think they'd get a kick out of your creative efforts.
