Yet another inventor of windsurfing

Found this on the right hand side of the front page, but it deserves a thread. Pretty good story, and video.

Schweitzer and his lawyers don't come off very well in that video.

Love the story about the elderly lady testifying. "Oh, that's a windsurfer?" I won't spoil it. Worth it and worthy of a Perry Mason episode.

Apparently Schweitzer didn't have very good lawyers. I forget when Norman Darby claims to have invented the sport. There was also a Popular Mechanics issue where they published some plans (more less conceptual) for a windsurfer. I think PM admitted they couldn't find any proof that any of their readers actually built one. Don't remember the timing of that one either. Guess this will have to go down in history like Newton and Leibnez co-discovering calculus. Probably in a few centuries time it will be recognized as having equal importance.
