Two nice days in the forecast - 15 to 20ish. Water is still brisk but the sunshine makes up for it. Van Pugh seems to be the only game in town as Old Federal still listed as closed.
Check traffic on 985 on your way up. MId day today, traffic was backed up northbound 2 miles just north of the GA 20 exit. There's construction on Buford Hwy (US 19) so it isn't much faster.
Barrett and I are headed up in a bit to Van Pugh. The wind has been more SW than expected. Chris may decide to go to the LLSC if it stays SW. If it goes solid SW, Barrett and I will go up to LLSC. If it persists or turns more W or NW - VP it is. W would really be a nice swell (technically, chop really) out in the middle.
2 solid, strong, sweet 11m days at recently opened Old Fed. Thankful, as it sounds like VP was again a tough kite launch!
Foil or board? (Given the kite size, board?)
Today at Van Pugh: Barrett holding down the 7.0, Alan came in to add "moredownhaul" to his 6.4, Gene and I suffered 5.2 and 5.4 on foils and Langdon flew a 4.4. With gusts hitting 30, we all had our hands full. Fun, fun, fun. Steadier than earlier this week maybe because it was more west.
Glad Old Fed opened up. I check FB earlier and I didn't see any updates by the Corps.
So much fun two days in a row. Apres windsurf - now sitting by fireplace with that warm fuzzy glow.
Endorphins are a helluva drug. Runners high without the pain and fatigue. Withdrawal symptoms are expensive. Hide your credit cards for the next few days or you'll be trolling the online web sites for that 3.7 you don't need.
No foils, too much fun on twintips! Rogier, "young" David, which of course makes me "old" David...
James and Mike were flying a trainer and catching video:
It was hard to resist the temptation to change your screen name
Glad everyone had a good time up there. The west wind and shadows would have made Van Pugh impossible for you. The wind line was 75 yards out. Every time I was getting my butt kicked in the gusts thinking I should just drag out the 100 liter board, that dead zone convinced me that being overpowered on the foil was the better option. But the pay off to play in the swell by Aqualand made up for it.
Thats a maybe for me also
(Late afternoonish)
I'm going to try to make it Friday afternoon. I'll be up there anyway getting my stupid airbags get replaced.
Alan
I plan on sailing tomorrow afternoon at Van Pugh.

I should be in.

Live report WNW at VP. Solid whitecaps 57F.

The wind siren is calling. With a second day of NW wind in the forecast, I'll be at Van Pugh late afternoon.
Barrett
I hope to be there this afternoon sometime too.

I'm probably going to miss today. Life intrudes

This should be Websters definition of Aggravation
Sitting in a service department an hour longer than you were expecting watching the huge flags sticking straight out in the wind that you are missing.
