Costa Rica 2019

Sophie and I made the week long trip on January 12th. Good week with lots of sun and sails between 3.7 - 5.8 for me and 3.0 - 4.7 for Sophie, we had wind every day. Michal and Trey joined in two days later, but unfortunately Trey broke a finger on his first morning out and had to fly home early to take care of it. He did spend the better part of the day before leaving taking pictures for us....thank you Trey!

Amazing pics. Thanks, Trey (sorry about your injury). Do I spy neoprene?

Re: Costa Rica 2019

Yes, it’s surprisingly mild in term of temperatures given how far south it is. Lake Arenal is up in the mountains, but it’s only about a 1000ft above sea level so the temperatures in low to high 70s are surprising.
It’s possible to not use any neoprene at all, but for me its nicer to use a shorty (at least in the mornings). Sophie gets cold very easily so she uses neoprene all day.
Also, we were lucky to get very good weather all week, but often there can be a lot of cloud cover and some on/off showers, so on those days having a bit more insulation is great.
You should make the trip one year, you'd have a great time.
