Tue/Wed

If as some forecasts predict, temps reach upper 30s, I'm looking to sail Tuesday or possibly Wednesday. Last Thursday was in the 30s & was not that bad. Anyone else?

Tomorrow has already been declared a school holiday (aka snow panic day) for some districts. Just say'n.

Yep, 39 in the morning is supposed to be the warmest part of the day. Shok

Seems like they blew it on the snow forecast - its 46 now, instead of 39. Hard to see how they get snow when the temp only drops to mid 30's.

Agreed. Looks better for Chris and anyone else that wants to brave the chill. Stay safe and warm! The water was bitey yesterday.

If the look like this they are wind lines. They are an indicator of wind direction.

I may be up for sailing, Wednesday afternoon. I'll check the conditions & forecast closer to the time of departure and give you a call if it looks good.

Chris P. & I met up at Van Pugh yesterday afternoon & sailed the Polar Vortex. Wind was gusty & it was indeed polar. We brought thermometers to measure an air temp of 37F & 44F water temp. Peelskid makes us envious sailing in tropical Bonaire.

So did some riding in snow covered Marietta on Tuesday. If you look closely around the .24 and 1:00 in the first video marks you can see some of what is considered snow in these parts.

Randy, how well do these kites launch off water? Asking for a friend. Wink

Did you build the NASA 2 Star?

Re: Tue/Wed

They launch fine off of water that is mix in with a lot of dirt, not so well on lake if the water temp exceeds 32 degrees. Didn't build it - I'm not that artistic. (Most of the kites I've built are the same general design, but I never paid that much attention to making them attractive.) For ex - the kite in this picture is about as fancy as I've gotten. It is rather time consuming to make complicated patterns and colors.

Re: Tue/Wed

Here is one of the most "artistic" kites I ever made. I was making it as a gift and just used a bunch a fabric scraps to make. As it turns out - this is my most viewed video ever on youtube - 3300 views. Most of my videos with kites I spend days or weeks building might get 100. This one took an afternoon.....
