Also, maybe Saturday before party, I might try to foil.
BUT parks could be closed Saturday as federal employees may get a few extra days off for Christmas.

I may be out today. I've been dealing with back spasms that won't play nice. Having something seize up over at Aqualand is not a pleasant prospect. I think I'll try to get out tomorrow, though. We can sail from Sunrise or elsewhere if the Army gets an unpaid vacation. Glad to hear that you are coming to the Partay

Not a problem. Even assuming the usual game of chicken still ends in wreck, I understand parks will be open though rest rooms* and visitor centers etc will closed. So just be sure to go before you go (to the lake.)
*Gee - this gives a great idea on how to protest a government shutdown. Just wear an old wetsuit and go in it when nature calls and you can't find a rest room. Then mail it to the person (or persons) you blame for the shut down. Could be a lot of fun!! I'm almost thinking of putting up with 45 and raining to try it. Pissed off - let Washington know about it! Write on the package - I'm pissed as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore.

What happens in a black hole stays in a black hole.
The rain lingered until mid-afternoon, so we got a late start, but it was worth it. Gene, Ed, Chris P. & I sailed at Van Pugh and it was ripping. I was rigged big with 6.0m sail. Everyone else was in the 5 meter range.
I'm in.
I'm in Friday afternoon.
