No ice today, but close. Car thermometer read 34F when de-rigging. Water was 62F & sunny, so not all that cold on water. Chris P. 5.8m, Rhett 6.4m & I enjoyed good NW wind at Van Pugh. I rigged a 7.0m, but should have rigged smaller. I was thrilled to have all planing jibes for a change thanks to steady wind.
I had major trouble w/ dry suit zipper, but had backup suit. A ripping day, seemed far stronger than forecast. Sailed 5.8, but 4.9 probably would have been better on the whole. The sun glare was intense on starboard.

That winter NW wind afternoon sun... probably has taken years off my vision. I can remember times sailing back to VP with one hand over my eyes. Forget sunglasses, we need those eclipse glasses for the next couple of months.
I also plan to sail this afternoon after lunch, around 1PM. Don't want to sail alone in cold, so I'll call to meet up.

This is what I think of today.... (so staying in to fold my socks).

Lot of wind for me too. All those that went out today have proven my new sig line.
