Golden Oldies - WS Photos

With hardly a white cap in sight for weeks, I've turned to scanning some old slides, and came across these photos from 1986 in the early years of windsurfing.

1 - Orignial windsurfers at Key Biscayne early in the year.
2 - My son, Evan, teaching windsurfing at Brian's shop near Lake Lanier. Evan was 15 at the time and was a "BIG certified sailing instructor".
3 - Windsurfing Lake Lanier as RAF sails & footstraps energize the sport.

Is that minivan in from of the sail shop in the 2nd photo one you used to drive? Looks familiar.

That board on the beach looks like it's infested with footstraps. The 80s: when shorts were short and socks were shorter.

Great pics. My first sail was a 1991 NP RAF CAM Dynamic. It had one removable cam on it. That was pretty high tech compared to some of these!

I envy you. My rig in '91 was a Hifly 4 batten RAF. I'm convinced the battens were made of pasta. It was a pretty purple and white, though. I didn't know any better.
