Barrett went to the correct Bonaire

After some concern that Barrett might have booked a trip to the wrong Bonaire, it appears that he went to the proper place and sent in some pics to prove it.

Just a reminder that sometimes it is windier on the other side of the fence. Biggrin

Re: Barrett went to the correct Bonaire

Thanks to Webguy for posting photos. The web connection here is slow and it’s been a busy week so far.

We have a family group of eight. My cousin & his daughter, Anthea, just completed their dive certification. I asked Anthea if she wanted to try windsurfing & she said she’s had enough lessons. I told her Windsurfing is just for fun. I brought a big board & a small sail out on the water & showed her the basics. She was thrilled to be off sailing within a few minutes. She announced at dinner tonight “windsurfing is fun” & has a lesson scheduled tomorrow morning.

This is such a friendly place. Today I sailed with folks we met from a previous visit. Tomorrow we’ll be sailing with the director of the Coral Restoration Foundation Bonaire. We invited her windsurfing after diving on reef restoration sites.

More from Barrett

More photos from Bonaire. The light wind today was good for learning windsurfing. This morning my daughter & I sailed together before she departed for home in SFO.

Things I love about Bonaire:
Starry skies on the dock at night
Frigate birds soaring over the beach
Lunch at the beach bar
Turquoise blue water

Great pics, I lived on Bonaire for 6 years in the 80's. Jibe City was established while I was living there!

Well, don't leave us hanging... Biggrin What was a dazzling urbanite like you doing in a rustic setting like that?*

coincidentally got this email today: https://mailchi.mp/ee245cd2330e/introducing-sorobon-beach-resort-and-dunkerbeck-pro-center-1226041

Quote:
Introducing: Sorobon Beach Resort and Dunkerbeck Pro Center

Sorobon Beach Resort is located on the island of Bonaire in the Dutch Caribbean. The island is well-known among divers, as it’s a world-class off-shore diving destination. However, it has the potential to become a celebrated family windsurf holiday destination!
And with American Airlines introducing a weekly direct flight to Bonaire from Miami, this island paradise is reachable like never before!

Things I love about Atlanta:

Two or three months off from the drudgery of windsport every summer
Mosquito bites on my neck when I'm sitting out on my deck in the evening
Goose poop all over my rigging spot when I go to the lake
Lunch at QT
Muddy reddish brown lake water and stains on my windsurf boards that never wash out....

What happens in a black hole stays in a black hole.
