Like Fred and Ted, I want to fly.
Unless, the lake is dry.
Then it would be boo hoo.
But it'll be raining soon,
making the lake high.
I hope to be there around noon.
btw, I hate UPS. I sometimes think they delay ground shipments to penalize you for not using more expensive shipping methods.
Takes 36 hours to make it halfway across the country. Almost there. No, wait, let's send it to Chicago and add 500 miles to the trip because no highways or major population centers exist between Kansas and Georgia. And, let's hold it in Chicago for a while. Don't want it to get there too soon.
Barrett wimped out at the prospect of no wind. Langdon gave a skinny a trial run in his 6.0. Chris rigged his new 9.5. I opted to rinse my 7.0 again. Water is still cold. Got a handful of flights in way out in the channel. If I was in shape and could pump more, I'd have doubled it. Next time, I pack the 8.0.

More UPS hate - So, next stop was Nashville. You know, Nashville, which is on the way to Atlanta from Kansas which Chicago isn't. Maybe it's a range per day thing as Nashville is 60 miles further from KS than Chicago is. Who knows. Oh, and the package sat in Chicago for 36 hours before departing. Can't rush the thing or maybe they only send trucks to Nashville every other day.
After Nashville? Doraville. Great, that's about 8 miles to the house. Shouldn't be long... right? Right? No, next stop is Atlanta (Forest Park, I suspect) because UPS can't get to Atlanta from Nashville. Not to mention that the Atlanta facility is twice the distance to my house as the Doraville facility.
No, this isn't going to change my life but it is like the store with 20 check out lines but only two cashiers and customers six deep. *ing annoying.
Short version: UPS ground shipping - first 1700 miles - 3 days with one intermediate stop. Last 830 4 days with 3 intermediate stops (1260 actual).
What are you waiting for Webguy? Must be important if you tracking it that close. UPS should just do like USPS does and just send back updates saying the package is in transit. It could go to Maui and back for all we know.
BTW - hope you guys had fun today - somebody should have.

Randy, why yes, some of us had fun. CP scooted around on the Superlight, I foiled on the 6.0 and Barrett was solid on his 8.5. Gene ate lunch and Shred Dog, in his optimism, left all the gear that would have been useful home. Puffy but pleasantly warm.
UPS update update - okay, this really grinds my gears. Pic below. They left the package by the FRONT DOOR. WAY TO GO UPS. What if my wife got home before I did? I'd be busted. There's no way I can explain a 370 cm box on the front door. "Uh, it's some office supplies from Amazon?" Why the urgency? To paraphrase JD Wentworth, I want my toys and I want them now.
If I can escape from work after lunch, I'm in
Launch?
Me too! Thinkin' Van Pugh at two
SW winds

Heading to Van Pugh at 1PM. Plan to meet Chris there.

(Yeah the pic is crooked.)
