Dots at McCollum (SE,12-2pm) no rain for those who don't mind launching from the boat ramp at Galts (which is about the worst possible direction for an easterly at Galts.) Doable but not desirable. Maybe rig in the parking lot and run the gear down to the beach park before they have time to kick you out.

Looks like they've gotten five feet of water in the last week. Should be interesting to see what floats by. Time to get the Galts Boys in action.

As I recall, most of the floaty stuff doesn't show up until the lake gets above 840 ft (full pool.)

I'd forgotten (or, probably, never really knew) what full pool was. So, still 6-7 feet down. Allatoona, you do you, you fluctuating scamp.

Dots vanished in a puff of smoke.

Dots are still there but the radar looks horrendous at the moment. Looks to be SW. Do we try VP or go elsewhere?

VP is ok. I’ll try to be there at 11:30 - 12:00.
Let me know if you go to a different place.

Re: Dots (and Rain) Sunday

It was pretty much SE at VP. I sailed off the other side and flew between the park and Chestnut Ridge either below or above Bozo. Ed opted for the Charlie Phillips Memorial Vasco de Gama award (Charlie was known for going on solo ventures over the horizon at OBX). He sailed the channel by the Three Sisters where he got some really powered rides in the gusts. The water is still very cold and the wind had trouble getting down to the surface at times. Ed said he could tell a gust was coming when he felt the air get warm. Shok

Ed also gets the Lucky Dog award. After being a mile away on an offshore breeze, he was ghosting in on the lee of the islands on the way back. Fifty yards from shore, the top bolt of his u-joint finally became unscrewed and he had to swim it in. If it happened 15 min earlier, he would have been in trouble as I'd already derigged and changed out of my wet suit and I sure wasn't going to rescue him. Biggrin

Ok kids, check those fittings occasionally. Also happy to report the foil board is fully recovered from its recent trauma; and it appears that more filming for Ozark is going on.

I rode through Fairview and saw you guys. What kind a lame so I went over to Llsc. I got a few foiling rides in the playoffs after I remembered how to do it. Man! It's been a while. Parentheses translation by Siri parentheses

Glad you got some wind on Sunday despite rain, gear failure & cold water. I'm keeping my eye on the forecast for Tuesday AM.

What your phone was practicing while you were out on the water.... (If you haven't seen any recent Boston Dynamics videos, check them out.)

If they keep perfecting the technology, rain or cold may never have to stop you from windsurfing. You can send a robot for you. They have already figured out how to ski.
