Re: Wed. You aren't going so let's post rabbit holes.
That's and awesome picture. C'mon guys - someone needs to get out there to be in that picture. I'm sure it would make the 6 o'clock news. Gene is just a few minutes away. One quick run. Or maybe one of our Baltic warriors. I'd go but my wetsuit is at the laundry.
I'm going to try to get one of the TV channels to run this picture tonight.

Gilmer is reporting "square" conditions. The temperature is equal to the windspeed in mph. About the only time square conditions work are between 40 and 50. Otherwise, somebody is going to get hurt.
I think my van is going to see some miles until mid Feb at least.

Before looking at these videos, I thought I was doing well to walk down the street without falling. Chris - awesome photo of the Lake steaming off heat!

Randy, looks like not only do you need to get those lessons in Rodanthe but up your sewing skills: when your sewing project is so big that you have to use a check list.
Oh, and when does your computerized cutter, like his, arrive?
Re: Wed. You aren't going so let's post rabbit holes.
Yeah - I was checking prices on those laser cutters but couldn't figure out exactly what I needed. Cutting is the hardest part of any complicated job. The kite below had about 50 panels and 24 ribs to cut out. I noticed his sewing machine was just a fairly plain looking Singer but it does appear to be an upgrade from mine. I have only ever used 3 stitches - straight, zig-zag and triple zig-zag. Sewing machine doesn't need to be complicated.

I hate it when this happens... steam fog means even more heat being sucked out of the lake

Hay anyone actual sailed at Lake Lanier when the wind is 40 and temp is 40? 50 and 50? Sounds doubtful to me.

Maybe a 50/50 (gusts) day somewhere - I've sailed a 3.7 here before.

Impressive work, Randy. The only thing I make around here has dried macaroni glued to the edges and then the whole thing gets stuck up on the refrigerator. https://www.google.com/search?q=macaroni+art&source=lnms&tbm=isch

You are too humble. I've seen some of your macaroni work.

Why, thanks! I think it looks just like the original:
