A place where everyone, it seems, sails

Windsurfing in Bermuda. The blue water is a good antidote to today's freezing rain.

My son, Evan, sent the following photo of kitesurfing from his home on the island of Guam. He said that every day this time of year the wind is blowing. Winter there is dry season, with the temperature in the mid 80's. Evan's been working on getting more altitude with his jumps, launching from waves that wash over the reef.

Just a wild guess, but I'm thinking if we could drive up to Lake Lanier, year round, and get fantastic wind, beautiful green or blue water, and nice warm temperatures, probably we would be saying quite often "everybody and his brother was at the lake sailing today, and I couldn't get a parking spot again."

Minor correction: "everybody and his bro was at the lake today..." I've seen Lanier in the summer. Biggrin

Langdon reports that ice floes are floating down the Chestatee towards Lanier. Warm water and overcrowding won't even be theoretically possible for a long time.

Yeah - there was ice in many places along the Chattahoochee yesterday as well. Here is what I saw when I went wash my car windows while filling up.

BTW - could you explain why my phone photos are always upside down? Did I get a phone originally intended for Australia or something?

(webguy edit: Randy's pic originally appeared upside down. We added some software to the website that auto flips it and other pics phones take upside down but say right side up in the exif data.)

Roo added some software last night that recognized when people used their phones upside down to take pictures. Biggrin

I assumed you were using iphone because search results featured it prominently at the top. Of course, I should have considered the source of the search results- Shok
