Fingers and toes will get numb this time of year without some protection. My hands used to be good to about 45 without gloves but 48-50 seems to be my limit these days. The numbness is only part of the problem. The pain when everything warms back is brutal. It's been warm this year so we may be right on the edge of being able to go without boots/gloves. Spring is around the corner.
In all seriousness, it was a great day on the water at Van Pugh. Chris P., Chris V., William, Gene, Rhett & I battled the cold - Sail sizes 5.2 to 6.2.
In all seriousness (gotta keep this going), it was cold. My car said 43 when I left; I think Barrett's said 41. It felt like someone was spraying my fingers with instant ice. It was enough west early on for a nice swell.

That's funny. Must have been warmer on the west side of town. My hands didn't feel cold at all.

Come on Randy, as a former iceman, you can handle 50ºF. I plan to man up by windsurfing Thurs. afternoon at Van Pugh.

Is it bearable without booties and gloves?

Your byline threw us off. There's no windsurfer in the photo and you're not standing.

(We love you, Randy. The water isn't that cold. Come play with us.)
