Big Board Thursday Nov 3

Shorties, big sails and boards. Enjoy summer while it lasts.

Sounds like a good compliment to my "short-board Tuesday." (Have to admit - it was a really short board.)

R, don't post pics like that. It'll give Peelskid ideas.

I plan to sail tomorrow, Thursday, at Van Pugh if the forecast holds. It's about time for some wind.

There was even wind today. Hot off my sewing machine, this 4.2 Meter kite actually flew long enough for me to take this picture. I think with a little wind it could even pull a dirtbike in a parade.

Do you actually think that with a 6 knot breeze you would stand a chance of countering a dirt bike with 65 hp.

If that was a challenge then I accept.

There's hardly any wind in Decatur at 1:30PM, so I'm planning on sailing Friday instead.

I bagged it, too. Started to drive up and finally common sense overrode the denial and misplaced optimism. Still trees and hazy skies don't make for a great day of windsurfing.

Worst part is some a**hole almost ran me off the road on the way back. Had I not braked hard, I would have been selling a bunch of masts cheap.

Have fun tomorrow. Off to go camping in NC for a couple of days.

There was wind today. You just need the right tools and the right location. Oh, peelskid, my bad - I meant to type "dirtboard" (pictured below). I guess that darn autocorrect got me again.....

Randy is this the start of a new sport? What are you calling it? Dirt-boarding or off-road kiting?

I hope not "dirt bagging" ROFL

Seriously though, he needs to stop posting these - it gives Peelskid ideas. Poor Randy will be towed down Moreland Ave. by a kazoo band.
