I'm thinking I'll go up to the river tomorrow. The forecast is more or less 10, maybe 280 degrees? Probably sail, maybe paddle, mess around and hang out.
Looks like I am out of action until this heat rash clears up. (This has to be one of the stupidest reasons ever to miss out on wind). Got it yesterday hanging around outdoors in the heat too long I guess. Its pretty darn hot out there - take precautions.

BTW - I got so many complaints I removed the photo and replaced it with a more accurate one.
Hope it wasn't on my account. I thought all the extreme dudes liked to post pictures of their warrior injuries. Broken legs, snapped wrists, heat rash, that sort of thing.
Personally, I have a phobia of crash test dummies the way some kids have of clowns. Every time I see that yellow and black face, I think of John Wayne Gacy.

Anyways, it was not bad. I was the only one there from about 3:30-5. Planed once about every 5-10 min until I was about to go in. Then I got a solid 20 min with enough wind to plane through a few jibes. Rigged big and wide: Ezzy 9.5 on Formula. Wish it had blown more but it's so much fun to be out on warm water for even a few runs - it was worth it.
I think that's what one has to do sometimes on the marginal days - just wait a bit. Surfers do it all the time and whine about it a lot less than we do.
I had a good time at the river although the wind was light and erratic and sometimes absent. Spent a couple of hours doing a little windsurf tai-chi. The air on the water was pleasantly cool.
I'm a touch more optimistic (read: stupid). I'm thinking of an overly optimistic session at VP.

Ok webguy, I'm posting today's photo. I'm not sure I'm getting better. But the strange thing is, my dog has come back to life.
