We left for the drive to the Outer Banks Friday afternoon and stopped overnight at the Florence Hotel in Florence, SC. What a fun time! The old hotel in town has been completely renovated with a fabulous restaurant "Victors". Two piano players kept us entertained - first Miss Peggy who had a career playing for Broadway shows, then "Shrimp City Slim" with Low-country blues & original songs.

We then drove through rain showers & arrived Sat. afternoon, & rigged. Sunday the wind blew from the NNW 25-30 all day. The cold front dropped the temp. to 48F in the AM and it warmed to the mid 50s with sun coming out in the afternoon. We stayed warm because the water was in the 60's. Away from shore the wind was steady making for a fantastic first day.
