The Gauntlet?

Maybe you guys were just blowin' smoke. It looks like there might be a few suitable days ahead for the Texas Death Match Hobie Race.

Mighty brave of PantySkid to want to race on Friday when he knows Alan Slo-Man-Slaughter has to work.

I can put in for tomorrow off but with this short of notice I doubt it will be approved. But no smoke here, it sounds like fun. I met a couple more hobie sailors that want in too

Hopefully peel skid isnt as fast on the hobie as he is on the dirtbikes.

"PantySkid" teehee, dats funnee. I have a job tomorrow (finally!) and the f'cast for the w/e changed to kinda sucky for wind. However, I am planning to spend some time at LLSC over the w/e, maybe camp out on Sat night and can bring Mr Hobie if it looks do-able.

OK, PantySkid isnt a very good Ring Name. How about David the Giant Killer since he has the little baby girly boat of the three of you?

Cool, I win! Where's the prize?

If it blows tomorrow 10 to 15 I plan on going even if nobody shows up.

Is that how it works, GirlyBoat Boy? Well... then the race is here at my house, right now... hmm... nobody here but me. I win!

Or we could go next week:

forecast has been changed to 5mph on Friday.

I am not going for that.

Besides CV the race was already held and naturally I won. Where where you?

gauntlet 1 |ˈgôntlit; ˈgänt-|noun
a stout glove with a long loose wrist.
knight’s gauntlet
• historical an armored glove, as worn by a medieval knight.
• the part of a glove covering the wrist.
PHRASES
take up (or throw down) the gauntlet accept (or issue) a challenge. [ORIGIN: from the medieval custom of issuing a challenge by throwing one's gauntlet to the ground; whoever picked it up was deemed to have accepted the challenge.]

Okay then. Looks like a good day tomorrow. I'm throwin' it down. Who's picking it up?

Now just look. That's exactly what happens when you use Wikepedia for all your research, ie. gauntlet.

In reality The Gaunlet was a Clint Eastwood movie released in 1977. Pretty good movie too.

Now that we have our facts straight I will be up there tomorrow for sure.

Forecast: Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 80. East wind between 5 and 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

When it says 10 to 15 it's really saying, " Hobieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee".
