Chris V. and I have recently purchased Hobie Cats. Chris a 17 and mine is a 14.
Just to let you know what these Cats can do watch this video of 14 Cats. The most prominent guy sailing is very good at sailing. Notice where the sailor positions his body while sailing.
I am going to get Gene out there doing this very shortly.

BTW: I have owned 4 Hobie Cats and I thought they were the fastest thing on the water until one day a windsurfer passed me. So I picked up windsuring. That happend in Harbor Island, S.C.

How do you un-flip a Cat nowadays?
The last friend that flip one in open ocean (Puerto Rico) needed the Coast Guard ....

You use a righting line and you set the boat up just like a waterstart on a windsurfer. Get wind under the sail to help lift while you pull from one side and it's up.

This shows some righting, (& some excellent crashing).

I am no longer a 20 knot snob. Now I'm a 14-18 knot snob. (Less than that is not that interesting. More than that, I'd rather windsurf).
