Just a quick report form Hatteras, Sat was a 4.0 day followed by a 5.0 day on Sun. Mon looks like we rest, (and I need it). If anyone is interested, I'm keeping a log which is linked from Gene's Consigment Shop's web page -

Dang Gene, I did not know you were in Hatteras this week. Elizabeth and I are staying in Salvo. This is the WORST week I have ever experienced in Spring. We did sail the small stuff last Sunday, but we have had 5 straight days of absolutely no wind (Monday - Friday). Very, very depressing :'(
Ahhh Grasshopper... Might I suggest that you look inward for what you desire... Like say one of the interior states. Like say OKLAHOMA!!!! The wind yesterday in Oklahoma City was 28 mph and the forcast for Sunday is 25 mph. Bill and I sailed 8 of 12 days two weeks ago and it was great! Only 200 more miles than Hatteras.
Scott
Really. Only 200 more miles ??? Ive been watching the weather and its been BLOWIN in the mid west.
Are you using weed-fins?
I will be right there this Sun thru next Wed. Is anyone staying for that time-frame?
Richard
I wil be there May 18-25 8)
May be a little late, but the weeds were minimal, but you will still find them. BTW sailed a 4.1, 4.7, 5.4, and 6.5 on Saturday.

Plop: Did you sail all those at the same time or what ???
Peekslid,
He probably did. Started with the 6.5, put his foot or harness hook through it and as the day went on... the rip got bigger and bigger and bigger till he was just sailing with the top panels.
Otherwise I can't imagine how hard it has to blow to get him on a 4.1 :o
It really did Crank on Sat, and the Atlanta group was out there all day. I started on my 5.0, then went down to 4.0 and then back up to 5.0. I sailed until about 5:00 pm and then had to break down and pack up for an early Sun departure. It was still blowing hard and some of the group sailed until dark. There was definately enough wind to get danny screaming :o on a 4.1. What a great day.
