Is the web like Radio?

Ever hear those stories about radio singals bouncing around the universe for years, and suddenly come back to earth.  You know, stories about people tuning in their radio to broadcasts from 20 years ago?

I'm wondering if the web works like that.  I got a call from Las Vegas from a guy looking to buy my Astro Rock.  He found it on web page.  Wierd thing is, that add hasn't run for probably 6 months or more.

Re: Is the web like Radio?

does Mulder know about this?

Probably he did a search on something like google and saw the cached version of the page.  A lot of search engines will store their findings as they crawl around (or google actually records the whole page and retains it so if the page no longer exists you can still see the cached version).  If they haven't been back to visit in a few months, that's what they'll remember

Re: Is the web like Radio? the truth

forget whatever I said.  This is what THEY want you to believe.

Who are THEY?

(I stumbled across this... one.  Peelskid would love it.  He's probably got it bookmarked.  ;)
