The official water temp @ Lanier is back to 49, so I say that Julliete is the call, fer sure. Air should be like 10 warmer & maybe the water that much also. You can call me @ 404/784/0287-mobile.
the wind faded mid-afternoon but seeing the thermometer made going to Juliette an easy choice. Left a 38 deg. Atlanta and arrived at 52 deg. with a 6.0ish wind.
Hope you guys/gals had fun at Lanier.
btw, it's about 1hr 20 min down to Juliette from Buckhead. West Point is 1 hr 30 min if you want warmer alternatives to Van (freezin') Pugh
Julliette sounds like it may be worth a try sometimes. I found the directions on the web page, but can someone tell how big it is and any other useful details.
Has anyone ever though about Lake Oconoe. 1 hr east of 285, shallow water will warm quicker maybe. I go by this like all the time when I go dirt bike riding and it looks good for most directions especially S or N. I 20 crosses right over it and if you could get to the lake quickly from I 20 that would be nice. Anybody know of a launch site. I know houses line the lake at the point that I 20 crosses.
I think it looks good, but one thing is for sure - there are so many people out of town that it almost has to blow.
Randy
given the expected temps, anybody have any interest for West Point? or other points to the south of town?
