Cocoa Beach Trip

The last I heard from anyone concerning this matter was from Trudi.  She wanted to know if she would be embarrassed by her worn and tattered 5.0 sail.  If it is a HOT sail, then no-fear, otherwise it could mean trouble.  What do you say Trudi??

Next on the agenda: Is everyone going to sail or watch sailors or watch the launch.  If you are going to sail you are excused from PT the morning of Feb 28th.  If you are going to watch sailors race you need to bring $5 extra for beer.  If you are going to watch the launch then be advised of the following:

The launch is on schedule for Feb. 28, Thursday at 6:48 am.  The mission is to service the Hubble Space Telescope.  And guess what?????  THE GREAT NEWS IS that the launch vehicle is going to be the Space Shuttle Columbia.  I guess that means more rocket like action.  Big plumes of red hot fiery exhaust against the backdrop of blue sky.  Don’t forget the camera.

For more up to date information regarding this launch you can either watch Peter Jennings, look the stuff up for yourself or send me $50 and I will personally call you with the latest and most interesting information.

This has been a service of the NASA Informant

Biggrin Wink Smile 8)Shuttle Columbia launch is still on schedule for Thursday Feb. 28th at 6:48am.  Everything is GO.

The rub is that there is a cold front coming in Wed to Atl. area.  Will it affect launch.  Only time will tell.  We get to watch a launch or we get to sail.  Sounds like a Win Win to me.  ;D Blum 3 Kiss 2

Re: Cocoa Beach Trip

Live from Cocoa Beach update. The shuttle launch has been postponed till Friday 6:30am due to the wind, humidity and cold temps which will be good for you late arrivals. We had great wind yesterday, gusts up to 30 and the water is warm. They currently have 260 sailors signed up to race and double that to include spectators. The IMCO race starts today with a big showing from the international participants. The other race formats begin Friday. Look forward to seeing you'all down here.

Plop, made two jibes yesterday and duck-jibed the 9.5 on Tuesday (Gene was impressed)
