welcome

welcome to the new windsurfatlanta.org message boards

please consider this in "beta" for a few weeks as this has been an extensive editing of a pretty big script and a few things may have fallen through the cracks.  let the webguy know how you like it and if there are any problems.

Re: welcome

nope.  Actually it's an open-source project that mimics many of the features of UltimateBB which -(it's 2"a's" together)uses.  But we can't afford UBB, so I spent the last few days hacking and modding this program.  btw, I also tried 2 other pretty well regarded scripts but this seemed the most flexible given my lowly skills (I jibe better than I hack perl scripts and if you saw how much I swam last Tuesday you'd really understand).

But thanks for noticing.

About $200 for a site license... you guys and gals aren't worth that much.  I'm not paying $200 to read about your boring adventures at Galts  ;)

When it comes to computer stuff, I pretty ignorant, but I am having a hard time making heads or tails of the new windforum.

Acute Biggrin

Ok, I probably wouldn't pay $200 either, since you can hear all the tall tales you want for free.  But admit it, you really like reading these posts from the Galts Ferry crowd - why else would you set up 2 bulletin board pages.

um... you seem to have done fine Chris.  But think of it as any other windsurfing product.  Faster than last year's.  More stable.  More range.  Lighter.  Easier for intermediates.  More challenging for experts.  Why, let's just rate it  :) Smile Smile Smile :).

Anyway, I hope it'll make sense in a while.  In the meantime, let me know if something in particular gives you fits and I'll try to fix it.

WR Let's Fix This Thing

WF: I don't think you are doing enough.  Let's get on the ball.  All this garbage in is garbage out stuff drives one crazy.

I propose that we limit out posts during the months of Jan, Feb and Mar to the subject matter that only pertains to WINDY WARM AIR AND WARM WATER sailing.

First subject area:  Let's talk about Aruba more.  They tell me that it rarely gets to 46 degrees in Aruba.  They also say that it is always warm in Aruba.  And, in addition, they always say it is windy in Aruba.  Did I miss anything?  Does anyone else have a comment?

Re: welcome

And on top of that, Aruba has no mosquitos and no hurricanes.
